Services for Carmelita Walker Erskin, a homemaker of Winnsboro will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Odgen Cemetery in Liddieville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Erskin was born January 26, 1931 to the union of her parents Randall Albert and Alice Jordan Walker in Liddieville, LA and passed from this life Sunday, April 29, 2012 in St. Francis Hospital in Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willie J. “Buddy” Erskin; brothers Ovay Walker and R. A. Walker and grandson Jarrett Turner.

Survivors include children Jimmy Erskin and wife Patsy of Virginia; Joey Erskin and wife Kay of Dickson, TN; Jay Erksin and wife Mary of Linden, TN; June Erskin Turner of Winnsboro, LA; and Jerome Erskin and wife Laura of Ohio; sisters Faye Chase of North Carolina and Gloria Walker Tarver of Winnsboro, LA; grandchildren Josh, April Joy, James, Heather, Joel Taylor, Lydia, Jayla, Jerika, Jameson, Jacie, Jeremy, Jere’, Mary Jane and Jake.

Pallbearers will be James Erskin, Jeremy Erskin, Josh Erskin, Taylor Erskin, Jameson Turner and Audrey Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Gooding and Terrance Hill.
